Roots
What do the roots of a tree do to the tree? Well without the roots, a tree can’t grow. With roots, your tree can flourish. As you can see, roots are fundamental to thriving. How do roots and laying a foundation for a better life match up? Let's take a closer inspection at my roots.
My mom is one of my roots. She influences me to be a hard-worker and sets a great example for me. Without her, I wouldn't be sitting here writing this piece right now. She is one of my roots. I need her to survive. My tree wouldn’t be growing without her. I wouldn’t be growing without my best friend, Nevaeh either. She pushes me in every single way, but she mostly pushes me to be a kinder person. Dancing is one of my fundamental roots, too. Dance is a safe place for me to express myself through the movement of my body. These are only my influence roots, though. There are still the achievement roots to go.
There is so much I want to achieve in life, but first off, I want to go to Ohio State University for college. It's a long stretch, but if I get good grades, and be a good student, then I can hopefully get a scholarship. Another achievement is owning my own dance studio. I hope to carry out my love for dance and show others how to love it as much as me. I also want to be a lawyer, and fight for what I think is right. I have to work super super hard for all of those achievements, but with all my influences, I can do it.
I am starting to focus a lot more on school to reach my academic goals. I will also put more of my focus towards dance. I have decided rather than being on my phone all the time, I am going to start making better decisions. I will start to study more and start to research on the steps I need to take to become a lawyer, and help people get the justice they deserve.
How do all of my roots contribute to laying a good foundation for my life? While I take the right steps to help me grow, my roots help me become a better person and a hard worker, to focus on my future achievements and goals.
