Positive Tremors
My brother has terrifying seizures! You see my brother has been healthy and very bossy (at times). It all started in 2019, December when he was 14 and I was 9 years old. Over winter break, we were just having fun and watching cartoons then it happened. I felt really scared after seeing my brother drooling, making weird noises while his eyes were looking at the ceiling. I yelled for my parents. They ran down and helped my brother. The next time when it happened, I was alone with my brother. I was calm and focused on getting the help he needed. I have been his positive support. A positive influence is a way to make someone feel better about themselves. In a stressful situation, being calm and having a positive attitude helps you gain the strength to face the situation and be there for the people around you.
Things do not always go our way. One time - my gaming console Wii U got destroyed by my cousin, and I was upset because I had loved playing many games. I did not throw a fit or even cry. I was trying to see how we can fix the device. It can be small too, like when everyone else is raising their hands in class while you don''t know the answer, but they pick you and make you write it out on the board and of course, we would panic. I focused on the answer and nothing else. Like, on my brother''s first seizure, I stayed as calm. So, when something does go wrong, you have to be calm and focus on what you have to do.
A positive attitude is when you don’t think about the situation in negative ways. I was afraid of swimming until I was 8 years old because of one negative incident that happened when I was about 3 or 4 years old. My parents slowly made me realize that I have been scared of going into the swimming pool because I was focusing only on negative things that happened to me. Instead, I started thinking positively and focused on how much fun it is to be in the water. Then slowly I loved being in the water and learned swimming eventually. Having a positive attitude definitely keeps you to stay calm and present in the situation so you can provide help to the people around you.
So in conclusion - if you face any bad situation, always remember to stay calm and focus on what needs to be done rather than getting too worried or scared about what will happen. Focus on the people and the situation, and step up on what you can do for them in that situation. This type of thinking always gives you ideas because your mind is already trying to problem solve. I have learned a lot - that I have to have a positive attitude and stay calm in difficult situations.
