Three Goals for my Teen Years
"A dream is only a dream… until you decide to make it real” singer, songwriter, and actor, Harry Styles said these words. This quote relates to this essay because dreams are goals you want to do. Thriving means to grow or develop well. To do this I am going to focus on my studies and take time for myself to focus on my own mental and physical health. The more you plan out what you need to do the more fun you get to have. If you use your time wisely and plan what need to happen, the faster you will get your work done. Three goals I’d like to achieve in my teen years are getting my driver’s license, make the Centerville softball team, and take time to track my mental health.
My first goal is to get my driver’s license. I would like to achieve this goal so I can be more independent and get myself places instead of relying on my parents. The plan I made to do this goal is to commit my time and effort to taking classes, practice driving and studying for the test. For example, I will have to sign up for classes and stay motivated to go. A roadblock that could occur would be if I didn’t pass the written or the actual driving test. To overcome this roadblock, I would have to be more prepared to take the test again until I passed. When I pass the test, I will be able to be more independent.
My second goal is to make the Centerville junior high softball team in the spring. To accomplish this goal, I will continue to do at home workouts that consist of learning new skills of softball and help to strengthen me. A roadblock I could face would be hurting myself. For example, if I broke my foot, I could keep doing upper body drills that help with throwing the ball and strengthening my arms.
My third goal is tracking my mental health by creating a journal where I track a few different things. I would track my moods throughout the day, random thoughts that I had, at least two good things that happened to me, and at least one thing that brought me down. Doing this would help me the realize the good things in life instead of focusing on the bad ones. It would also encourage me to learn from the hard times. A roadblock I could face while doing this is not being motivated to journal. To stay motivated I would have family and/or friends hold me accountable and make sure that I do it.
My three goals to achieve are to get my driver’s license, make the Centerville softball team, and track my mental health. You must be the one to want to achieve goals that you set for yourself and make sure that no one else is doing them for you. Plan out your time wisely but also have fun!
