My Teenage Goals and How I Plan to Achieve Them
What were your first plans as you entered high school; get straight A’s, go to prom, maybe even get a job? Well, for me I have three goals and three roadblocks that keep popping up to stop me. Through out my high school career I have many goals in mind. I plan to have earned my eagle by next summer, my drivers license by 16 and a half, and graduate with honors from high school. But by setting these goals I foresee three road blocks, peer pressure, laziness, and time management could all possibly trip me up along my road to success. But the first thing I must do is earn the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America.
My first goal is to earn my Eagle scout rank by next summer. My dad says I cant learn to drive until I get eagle. Therefore I plan on finishing my last two merit badges by November 12. Then I will start paperwork for my eagle scout service project. I am planning on putting in a flagpole at my church by about mid May. I’ll then turn in all my paper work for the project to council and receive my rank. I anticipate negative peer pressure from school as scouts are considered not cool. That is the reason many scouts have dropped out by now. I plan on just ignoring them for as long as possible. Then, if the pressure gets to much I’ll talk to a teacher about it. As soon as my eagle is done, I’ll be looking toward a new goal.
Next I’ll be trying to earn my driver’s license. I hope to receive it by summer, 2016. I am unfortunately kind of lazy and tend not to do what I should do until I have to. I anticipate preferring to stay in bed on a saturday when I should be going to class so I can learn the rules of the road. In order to stop this from happening I plan to force my self to go to class, hopefully making it a habit so i dont have to think about it. I’d just do it. My final goal may seam as far away as the open road but it's really just around the bend.
My final goal is to graduate with honors. This will be very tough as I have very poor time management skills. I often rush at the last moment to finish a project. Hopefully I’l iron out a system by which I can complete every assignment completely and on time. Then I’ll have met all my goals to I have set myself.
As you can see, I’ve planned out most of my high school carer and hope to meet my goals and roadblocks with perseverance and ingenuity as I continue on the path of life. Now what do you plan to do.
