In My Future
Ever since I was little I have wanted to become a doctor. Many factors that are helping me reach for the stars and achieve my dreams. These are my family, my school and my faith. My family has always been helpful because they believe in me. My school has been supportive because they have offered programs that help me branch out and find my passion. My faith helps me because it reminds me to be strong, kind, and helpful.
When I was little I got a doctor kit for my birthday. I would beg my parents to let me do a check-up on them. I would check their heartbeat, look in their ears, and when it was time to go they would always get a shot. I don’t know why, maybe it was because I hated shots, that I would always give shots. My mom tells me that it didn’t matter what “ailment” she had a splinter, a headache or a hurt toe, she would get a shot. I think that I have always wanted to be a doctor because I have always liked to help people. My family has always been so supportive of me wanting to be a doctor and they always told me to reach for the stars. One unique experience was when I was on a hiking trip for Girl Scouts. It was in New Mexico and I was scared of cactuses so I brought my tweezers, Band-Aids and Neosporin. While we were hiking, my friend tripped on a loose rock and got some thorns in her leg. My leader had forgot her first aid kit in the car so I let her use my things. I felt really happy that I could help my friend.
My school is aiding me because they offer programs to help me follow my dreams. This year I am going to be a Sunday school helper and this summer I helped at vacation bible school. I believe that by teaching and caring for kids I am preparing myself for my future. By combining my love for helping and for kids I hope to help kids as a pediatric doctor.
My faith helps me because it teaches me to be kind and helpful. As said in Galatians 6:9 “Don’t get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don’t give up” Another bible quote that helps me is Titus 3:5 “He saved us, not because of the good things we did, but because of his mercy.” My faith gives me strength. Jesus encourages us to help others and care for them, and that is what I intend to do. I plan to help every child that needs my skills and to do it through the mercy and kindness of God. As Saint Mother Teresa said “I am little pencil in the hand of a writing God, who is sending a love letter to the world.”
