How I Can Be Successful Moving Forward
As I am becoming a teen, I realize there are adventures and obstacles that are yet to come. The goals that I set will help me face the difficulties and challenges that I may encounter. In life, you set goals and work to achieve them, so that your life is happy and meaningful. Some of my goals in life are to do well in school, to build positive relationships, and to stay physically healthy. If I work hard and I am a good person, I hope to be happy and joyful throughout my life.
One goal I have as a teenager is to get straight As in school. I plan to do this by paying attention, studying, and giving 110% effort on everything I do. Another goal I have, is to build my relationships with my family, friends, and God. I plan to stay close to God by going to church weekly, praying regularly and by doing the right thing. I will stay close to my family by not arguing and spending quality time with them. I will build strong relationships with my friends by encouraging them to make good choices and by being a positive role model.. My final goal is to stay physically healthy. I will do this by having good eating habits, playing games with my family, and staying active in sports.
With goals come possible roadblocks. A roadblock with keeping straight A’s may be that as the years progress the work will get harder and there will be more assignments. Challenges in my relationship with God may be having difficulty making the right choices and having temptations to turn away from him. For family, I might not want to spend time with them since they are always around. A roadblock with my friends may be not always getting along with them, or not liking the same things they do. Difficulties for staying physically healthy would be that I might not always have the best eating habits or like to work out.
Obstacles call for solutions that help you will help you to overcome. I will overcome the demands in school by being aware and giving my best effort. I will overcome relationship challenges with my family by being kind and remembering how much I love them. For my friends, I will respect and value them. With God, I must remember he is the God who created me and who died for me, so I can and will make time for him. I will become physically healthy by finding a way to stay in shape that is fun, like playing sports I enjoy.
As we progress through our teen years, we will have hardships and tough times to get through, but the important thing to think about, is that it will be worth it in the end, just like Dottie Yeck’s quote says. I am a believer that hard work really does pay off.
