“Hello Mom! I missed you today! I had a great day at school!”
“Mom, what’s wrong? Are you not happy to see me?”
“No, I’ve just had a rough day.”
“Oh, well maybe we should do something fun and enjoyable to make you feel better!”
“Like what honey? I don’t know if I feel like it right now.”
“Come on Mom! We can make chocolate chip cookies together. It will be a blast. So, what do you say? Will you make cookies with me? It’s your one and only chance.”
“Okay, I guess we can make some cookies together. It’ll give us a chance to talk and bond with each other.
When I got home from school, I could tell immediately that my mom was not having the greatest day. So, I decided to offer her to have some fun together. She wasn’t up for it or interested but you know moms, they will do anything for you. So, she finally agreed. We talked together about the issue she’s been going through and worked it out. I was very proud of myself about spreading joy to my mom and how I lifted her spirits. After that, we enjoyed the cookies together and were laughing and joking around with each other.
My mom was the happiest version of herself I have ever seen her. She was joking around while eating her cookies. She even spread even more happiness back to me. She made me feel happier than when I first stepped foot into the house. Positive attitudes can change anyone’s attitude if they are really determined to change their attitude. My mom was willing to change her attitude because she trusts me. If you just surround yourself with people you love and trust, then you will have a happier attitude. A happier attitude and spreading a happier attitude results to a happy life and other people having a happier life too.
I learned a big lesson today. I learned that if you stay positive as much as possible, you can definitely inspire others to do the same. Really, just giving people a smile while make the other person’s day. So, remember, stay positive!
