My Goals for My Teen Years
“Set your goals high, and don’t stop till you get there.” This quote is by former NFL player Bo Jackson is important because if you set goals too low, they will not provide the motivation to actually do them. Setting them too high is like setting yourself up for failure. So, once you set some goals, it is important to stay committed to those goals until you’ve reached them. Three goals that I have for my teen years are making varsity basketball, getting my drivers licenses, and getting into a good college. I can connect my goals to Dottie Yeck philosophy because by being good + doing good = having fun + being happy which you need to have if you want to accomplish goals you have.
My first goal I have for my teen years is to make varsity basketball. The ways I can do that is by giving at 110% at every practice and games. I also can achieve that by pushing myself to work hard and not give up. Roadblocks that I could face along the way are injuries and getting cut. My solution to overcome my roadblocks are to stretch before practice or games and working hard and not giving up.
My second goal is to get my driver’s license. My plan for doing this to complete all the hours to have to, going to driving school, and passing the driving test and writing part for the test. I also can accomplish my goal by trusting yourself while driving and believing in yourself. Obstacles that I could face along the way is failing my test, crashing, and not getting all the hours you need. My solution to conquer my roadblocks are to pay attention while driving, studying all the materials you get for your test, and making sure you drive everyday to get the hours you need.
Finally for my last goal I have for my teen years are to get into a good college. My strategy for completing this is by keeping my grades up through the first three years, finishing all the homework you have every night, and doing well on the ACT and the SAT. A barrier that I could face is failing my first three years of high school, and doing very poorly of the ACT and the SAT. My solution to complete my goal is to finish all my assignment, which keeps you grade up, and to study everything you learn through the year to make sure your prepared for the ACT and SAT.
The three goals that I have for my teen years are to make varsity basketball, get my driver’s license, and get into a good college. I can connect my goals to Dottie Yeck philosophy by being good + doing good = having fun + being happy which you need to have if you want to accomplish goals you have in life. As Bo Bennett said, “A dream becomes a goal when action is taken towards its achievement.”
