My Foundation For Success
I have been working hard to lay a strong foundation for the kind of life that I want to live. I have discovered that I want to be a Pediatric Neurosurgeon. A kindergartener in my sister's class was diagnosed with a brain tumor and though he and his doctors fought it hard, he could not conquer it. Even so, his life was extended because of the caring doctors who gave him the gift of precious time. He and his family were able to enjoy each and every moment together. I want to be one of those caring doctors, who provides compassion and healing when children and families need it the most.
I realize that teamwork is essential to doing well in life. I invest lots of time in my favorite hobbies to help me collaborate with others. The things that bring me the most joy include theatre, choir, and dance. I spend about ten hours a week dancing, and I greatly enjoy the challenge of the choreography and the payoff in seeing how each of my friends contribute to making something greater and more beautiful. Theatre has a similar process. Everyone has to work together, no matter how big or small your role, to accomplish the goal of putting on a great show. Lastly, choir teaches me that a group performance can be more powerful and moving if everyone sings in harmony for a greater purpose. All of these things allow me to express myself and bring me joy, happiness, and confidence to know that if I work hard, I can accomplish what I set my mind to.
I greatly appreciate and understand the value of education towards achieving my goals. I strive to excel in my academics so that I can increase my chances of getting into a rigorous and competitive school. I truly enjoy my honors math class, immersing myself in science labs, working diligently to understand difficult concepts in coding and makerspace, writing creative stories in English, and making sure I am there if my friends need help.
Lastly, my parents and friends are always there to support me, no matter what. If I audition for a show, my loved ones cheer me on. If I am nervous about a test, my loved ones help me study. If I just want to have fun and relax, my loved ones provide me with what I need. If I have had a tough day, my loved ones do their best to bring a smile to my face and tell me they believe in me. I couldn’t have gotten to where I am today without my friends and family supporting me through it all.
In conclusion, my foundation for success is to always try my best, work my hardest, make time to enjoy life by doing the things that make me happy, and spending time with the people who mean the most to me! Doing these things will help me lead my best life.
