This Child's Village
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and I’m grateful for my village: parents, grandparents, siblings, aunt and uncles, cousins and especially my friends! Here is a little about how this village is laying a solid foundation for me.
As a young adult, I am taking steps to prepare for my future and build a solid foundation for my life. My ultimate goal is to become a videogame designer, and I am committed to learning everything I can to make that dream a reality. To achieve this, I have set my sights on getting into a good design program and taking a marketing class to expand my knowledge and skills. My passion for technology and creativity has led me to pursue a major in computer science once I attend college.
I am grateful for the people who have supported me through this journey, especially my stepmom, who has been a constant source of encouragement and guidance. She is always there for me when I need her, offering her support and helping me stay focused on my goals. However, my best friends have been a strong part of my support system, always ready to cheer me up and help me get through difficult times and tough days. Next, my dad honestly does the most with his loving and caring attitude. Just him being there makes me feel loved. He always helps me with schoolwork, makes it easier to get through the challenges in my life, and takes good care of me through those challenges.
Then there are my two sisters whom I love. They help me get through so much and always make me laugh, I feel good when I am around them. My Nana has had a huge impact on my foundation, for my great-grandfather was a part of the civil rights movement. My nana tells me the stories of when she met Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and other social activists. I have the strength in me and if I put in the work, I know I can succeed! Now you see why I am grateful for my village helping me lay a solid foundation striving for success which gives me the love, support, and confidence that I need to be successful and driven!
